A brief history:
On 26 December 1979 what became known as the 'Boxing Day Massacre' took place at Hillsbrough where Wednesday won 4–0, with goals from Ian Mellor, Terry Curran, Mark Smith and Jeff King. The match was watched by a record Third Division crowd of 49,309.
Sunday 24 September 2017 - another date immortalised into Sheffield footballing history and will forever be known as the 'Bouncing Day Massacre'.
On this day, after fighting back from 2-0 down Wednesday drew level and the whole stadium was 'bouncing' with the home crowd singing the now infamous "if you don't fucking bounce then you're a Blade". Embarrassingly for the home crowd as they were singing this the Blades went down the other end where Mark Duffy fired the Blades back ahead. They never bounced again.
To this day songs are still being sang by both sides of the city about the Boxing day match, and now a Bouncing Day song is sure to grace the terraces for decades to come.
